Dr Nicola Logan
Dr Nicola Logan is a reader in optometry and director of research for the Optometry and Vision Science Research Group, School of Optometry at Aston University. Nicola’s research interests are the epidemiology of refractive error, the development and aetiology of myopia and myopia management. Her current research projects span these areas of interest and include clinical trials in myopia management and risk factors for progression of myopia in children. Nicola runs a myopia clinic at Aston University, and she collaborates with other researchers working in the field of myopia as part of the Myopia Consortium UK and the International Myopia Institute.
Dr Peter Hampson
Dr Peter Hampson is the Clinical Director of the AOP. His role includes civil negligence claims, advising members on GOC cases, developing policy and working with NHS England via OFNC and advisory groups. He is Co-Chair of the OC Information and IT committee with an active interest in artificial intelligence, Bayesian analysis and record keeping. He also teaches a part time post graduate module at Cardiff University on legal aspects of UK optometry and is a former expert witness.Peter is a practising optometrist and works in independent practice one day per week, he is an active member of his LOC and also writes and delivers CET accredited training.
