Der Workshop präsentiert u.a. einen Beitrag zur modernen Klassifikation des pachychoroiden Krankheitsspektrums mit systematischer Ordnung der einzelnen Phänotypen (PPE, CSC, PNV, PCT/AT1). In weiterer Folge wird die aktuelle auf prospektiven, randomisierten klinischen Studien beruhende Therapie der Choroiretinopathia centralis serosa (CCS) vorgestellt. Es folgt die Diskussion der unterschiedlichen Therapieansätze bei den vielen Erkrankungen des pachychoroiden Spektrums außerhalb der CCS (PNV, PCV/AT1) sowie die Vorstellung der aktuellen Empfehlungen der Cochrane Collaboration zur CCS.  Abschließend soll die Frage beantwortet werden, wie ein deutsches CCS-Register die Zusammenarbeit erleichtern kann, um die unklaren Fragstellungen des komplexen pachychoroiden Krankheitsspektrums in Zukunft möglichst rasch beantworten zu können.
Starting with the etiology of the pachychoroidal phenotypes, current pathophysiological aspects will be discussed including epidemiological data, imaging studies (OCT, FAG/ICGA, OCT-A) and experimental data from animal models. Here, the risk factors of scleral rigidity, asymmetric vortex vein drainage, gluco-/mineralocorticoid signaling pathway, and choroidal autoregulation are discussed.
 
Disease patterns and classifications must be clear and relatively simple to classify in order to gain acceptance. Therefore, the second lecture will discuss current aspects of the classification of the pachychoroid disease spectrum. Here, the individual pachychoroidal phenotypes (PPE, CSC, PNV, PCT/AT1) will be sorted into a logical sequence of pathological processes. In addition, more complex, often extramacular entities of the pachychoroid spectrum such as peripapillary pachychoroid syndrome (PPS) are discussed. 
 
Especially in the treatment of CCS, many myths still persist in clinical care, based on small retrospective studies and individual observations. The third lecture will therefore dispel these myths and finally ground CCS therapy on a solid foundation based on prospective randomized clinical trials.
 
The pachychoroid spectrum outside of CCS encompasses many conditions with different therapeutic approaches. Especially in the neovascular stage (PNV, PCV/AT1) many options emerge. Which therapy to use when, and which substance to use, or augment, with PDT in PNV and PCT/AT1 will be explained in the fourth lecture.
 
Without the enormous progress in retinal imaging in the last years the pachychoroid spectrum would never have been classified. Still, many experts voice different opinions on how to translate these findings into therapy. Therefore, collaboration across individual institutes is necessary to synchronize the current state of knowledge. How can a German CCS registry facilitate collaborations and what are the recommendations of the Cochrane Collaboration on CCS? These questions will be clarified in the fifth lecture.
 
The goal of this workshop on the pachychoroid disease spectrum is to provide participants with an update on the current state of knowledge regarding this much-discussed entity. By the end of the event, we hope to have sharpened participants' perspective on pachychoroid spectrum diseases
by giving a name to entities that we have all seen in recent years but have not yet sorted into a logical classification system.
